An interesting experimenting for this morning sketches : I put some old photos in luke warm water for a minute and scratched them with a needle and sand paper ! A lot of fun and inspiration :)

My idea today was actually to get more into the circus idea... but suddenly I went with my morning sketchbook to something totally different ! Even my painting didn't go to circus, but to Red riding hood !

Today more of the sketchbook.

Some days the work just flows and I find it difficult to stop and to remember , that there are also other things that I have to do... I am still excited when I go to bed at night, because I can't stop thinking what to paint the next day ! Those days are the days when I know, that I have the best job in the world .... I LOVE MY WORK ...... What I have accept though.... are the 'other' days as well !!!

But from those days , I will tell you another day :)

'breaking free'

Today I decided not only to show the finished painting of the day, but also my other not so finished work, that I do during the day.... For example my 'morning' sketchbook... where I draw in the morning without really thinking about 'what to paint or draw' ! A little bit like 'blind writing'. Often I also write things in it. Just an idea that pops up.

The sketchbook here is more a play. Whatever little papers or labels I find I glue in and create a page out of it.... This is also a way how ideas can develop !

Todays work is related to yesterdays . About humans desire to fly and to feel free !

It was a lot of fun, as I not only worked with coffee and glue, but also wax ... The wax I mixed with a white ink. These two ( wax and ink ) didn't really support each other, but gave a very interesting texture. That is my favourite part , I think at painting : experimenting....

Autumn wakes up

Autumn wakes up Mixed media on paper. 29x41cm.

The original idea, has nothing to do with this painting :)... As it often happens. I wonder if I will be EVER able to paint what I actually had in my mind. I wanted a very white very abstract portrait.... Well ...THAT didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow !

I find it difficult in those days to paint when so many people are suffering in Japan... Painting non related themes can seem inappropriate . My thoughts though...are with the people suffering there .
